I'm looking for a flashlight that will outperform my ledlenser p7. my friend has a fenix tk40, but I'm honestly not too impressed. my problem is I like the size of the p7, but I would like more output and range, while keeping roughly the same size, with better water resistance, and preferably a focusable head, but I can be flexible on this one aspect.

Your led lenser p7 puts out around 200 lumens and Is about the same size as a 2 x cr123 or 1 x 18650 format. Most of the brand of lights in this format puts out 500 to 700 lumens. I'm not sure what waterproof rating the led lenser has, but I know it's not that good as the focusable head can't be waterproofed effectively. Having said that, if you want a focusable head, you will hard pressed to find it. Led lenser has a patent on that particular design and focusable heads don't seem to be a design priority for manufacturers. Check out the Eagletac G25C2 or the Klarus xt11. These are just 2 examples of really nice quality lights with a good mix of throw and flood.

what about the EagleTac M3C4 or the fenix tk35? I see both of those have a funky battery cap (and both are plastic), but is there anything shorter like these, but maybe better built? I'm looking for 700 lumens and up, ideally, because the p7 has a focusable head, so it can actually out throw higher power lights.
