Hey fellas,
After a recommendation on a couple of lights, a couple for myself and one for my father...

So, first up, is something to replace the Led Lenser P7 my father is currently mainly using for work.

1) How would you prefer to purchase the light?
I will be mail-ordering or buying online, so this doesn't matter.

2) Budget: An easy question, but you may change your mind after answering the rest! :-)
____Less than $100.

3) Format:
____I want a flashlight.

4) Flashlight-specific format/size:
____Every day carry medium (4-7 inches).
____Holster carry.

5) Emitter/Light source:
____LED (known for efficiency, longevity, and compactness)

6) Manufacturer:
____I want to buy a light from a traditional mass producing manufacturer that is ready to go out of the box.
____I would consider getting a light that is pieced together (for example a “host” or flashlight body from one manufacturer, and a “drop-in” emitter from another source). Under the right circumstances, this path can provide more options to the consumer to meet specific needs, and can often be easily upgradeable as technology improves.

7) What battery type do you want to use?
____I intend to use rechargeable nickel chemistry (NiCad, NiMH, NiZn) (Preference is AA)
____I intend to use rechargeable lithium (li-ion) chemistry. Feel free to specify a size if you know which size you want (14500, RCR123/16340, 17500, 17670, 18650, etc.) (may consider)

8) How much genuine out the front (OTF)light do you want/need? Sometimes you can have too much light (trying to read up close up with a 100 lumen light is impossible). (brightness adjustable with the following)
____I want to navigate a dark room or read a map (0-10 lumens).
____I want to walk around an unlit rural area (50-150 lumens).
____I want to illuminate my entire backyard or a campsite (150-300 lumens)

9) Throw vs. Flood: At what distance will you be most likely to use this light? Select all that apply.
____Less than 1 yard/meter (reading, other close work)
____Less than 5 yards/meters (looking for something inside a dark shed/garage/basement)
____5-20 yards/meters (check out a noise in the backyard)
____30-50 yards/meters (I have a big backyard) (more is always handy)

10) Runtime: Not over-inflated manufacturer runtime claims, but usable brightness measured from first activation to 50% with new batteries (Measured on maximum output).
____90-120 minutes (Runtime is moderately important, but still not critical)
____3 hours + (I critically need this light to run on max for extended periods in between battery changes/charges).

11) Durability/Usage: Generally the old phrase “you get what you pay for” is very accurate for flashlights.
____Very Important (Camping, Backpacking, Car Glove-box).

12) Switch Type and location (choose all that apply):
____I don't care. but something that can tail stand would be handy.

13) User Interface (UI) and mode selection. Select all that apply.
____I want 2 light levels. (Brighter/short runtime and Dimmer/long runtime.)
____I want multiple light levels. (Some lights have 5-16 light levels.)
____I don’t care.
(preferably more than 2 but nothing rediculous).

14)Material/Finish/Coating
____I don’t care.
Something tough enough to handle drops and being thrown around a bit.

15) Special Needs/extras: Is there anything else you want or need that hasn't been mentioned? Select any below.
____Pocket/belt clip
____Holster

Thats that one, now one for myself, one to put in a tool wrap for my motorbike.

1) How would you prefer to purchase the light?
____I will be mail-ordering or buying online, so this doesn't matter.

2) Budget: An easy question, but you may change your mind after answering the rest! :-)
____Less than $100. preferably less but can do this if I must.

3) Format:
____I want a flashlight.

4) Flashlight-specific format/size:
____Every day carry small (2-4 inches).
____Every day carry medium (4-7 inches).

Under the right circumstances, this path can provide more options to the consumer to meet specific needs, and can often be easily upgradeable as technology improves.
not too fussed.

7) What battery type do you want to use?
____I intend to use alkaline batteries (AAA, AA, C, D) (disclaimer, while it does not preclude all choices, these are not recommended for many of today’s most powerful lights)
____I intend to use rechargeable nickel chemistry (NiCad, NiMH, NiZn)
would prefer AA, due to being easier to find.

8) How much genuine out the front (OTF) light do you want/need? Sometimes you can have too much light (trying to read up close up with a 100 lumen light is impossible).
____I want to navigate a dark room or read a map (0-10 lumens).

____5-20 yards/meters (check out a noise in the backyard)
____30-50 yards/meters (I have a big backyard)

10) Runtime: Not over-inflated manufacturer runtime claims, but usable brightness measured from first activation to 50% with new batteries (Measured on maximum output).
____30-60 minutes (I have plenty of batteries just ready to be changed)
____90-120 minutes (Runtime is moderately important, but still not critical)

11) Durability/Usage: Generally the old phrase “you get what you pay for” is very accurate for flashlights.
____Very Important (Camping, Backpacking, Car Glove-box).

12) Switch Type and location (choose all that apply):
____I don't care.

13) User Interface (UI) and mode selection. Select all that apply.
____I want 2 light levels. (Brighter/short runtime and Dimmer/long runtime.)
____I want multiple light levels. (Some lights have 5-16 light levels.)
____I don’t care.(nothing overly complicated but reliable).

14)Material/Finish/Coating
____I don’t care.

15) Special Needs/extras: Is there anything else you want or need that hasn't been mentioned? Select any below.
none really.

And now, lastly another, for myself, to replace my Quark AA2, which at times is a bit temperament.

1) How would you prefer to purchase the light?
____I will be mail-ordering or buying online, so this doesn't matter.

2) Budget: An easy question, but you may change your mind after answering the rest! :-)
____Less than $100.

3) Format:
____I want a flashlight.

4) Flashlight-specific format/size:
____Every day carry medium (4-7 inches).
____Holster carry.

5) Emitter/Light source:
____LED (known for efficiency, longevity, and compactness)

6) Manufacturer:
____I want to buy a light from a traditional mass producing manufacturer that is ready to go out of the box.
____I would consider getting a light that is pieced together (for example a “host” or flashlight body from one manufacturer, and a “drop-in” emitter from another source). (not too fussed)

7) What battery type do you want to use?
____I intend to use rechargeable nickel chemistry (NiCad, NiMH, NiZn)
____I intend to use rechargeable lithium (li-ion) chemistry. Feel free to specify a size if you know which size you want (14500, RCR123/16340, 17500, 17670, 18650, etc.)
Am fine from AA, RCR123-18650

8) How much genuine out the front (OTF) light do you want/need? Sometimes you can have too much light (trying to read up close up with a 100 lumen light is impossible).
____I want to navigate a dark room or read a map (0-10 lumens).
____I want to walk around an unlit rural area (50-150 lumens).
____I want to illuminate my entire backyard or a campsite (150-300 lumens). (again, more is nice but ultimately, something a bit better than the Quark AA2)

____30-50 yards/meters (I have a big backyard)
____50-150 yards/meters (I live in a very rural area/farm with wide open spaces) (Not super important to have this much throw but would be nice)

____I don’t care.
Preferably without a million different levels and strobes etc...
Something quick and easy to use.

14)Material/Finish/Coating nearly as lightweight as aluminum, but can be moderately to significantly more expensive).
____I don’t care.

15) Special Needs/extras: Is there anything else you want or need that hasn't been mentioned? Select any below.
___Pocket/belt clip
____Holster
(wont say no to any more extras though).

And I think that about sums it up.

Would appreciate any help.

I've got a recommendation for both your father and your 2nd light, the light for your M/C's tool roll I'll leave to someone else, I'm don't dabble in that catagorey much...

honestly for your pop I would go wih a surefire with a bulletproof drop in, a Nailbender or one of vihn's- both offer/include potting (great for physical stress reduction on the driver) if your old man is okay with poly light a G2 is a great tool to have on any job site (or any p/z series would be great too). There are several choices of tail caps, both surefire and aftermarket, that tail stand and endless combinations of emitters/modes/drivers/batteries.

For your 2nd light, a zebralight SC600w. 18650, 800+lumen on turbo, efficiently driven for good run times and heat management, pocket clip, nice and small, very nice UI (for basic use its pretty much 3 mode, if you dont have a ZL the UI can sound scary, its really not) super bright turbo to super low "moonlight" and everything inbetween and the only flashy mode is a slow strobe and you never have to see it if you dont want to.
