A few public tv channels on cable that have running power point displays freeze from time to time, but the background is usually blue and its a bit fuzzy to read. One day the channel guide screwed up and you could watch someone plunder in the windows control panel trying to fix it. Strange that they used the task manager to kill stuff and reload it than to just generically reboot.

I use to use an ati card with tv out, one problem is some errors would not show on the tv and just blank out.

No, it wasn't broadcasted. I hooked up my laptop's composite video output to my TV and displayed a picture of the "blue screen of death." I tried to take a picture of it in blue but it came out fuzzy as my camera kept picking up the scan lines on the screen so I turned the color control all the way down to black and white. Hence the "Black Screen of Death"

This idea actually came after I was looking for some wallpaper for my laptop and thought the blue screen of death as a windows background would be fun (and confusing). After seeing a few pictures of blue screens displayed on ATMs and at airports on the screens that announce your flight, I decided it would make a great "trick" photograph.

Ooohhh...

We have a city channel that just runs a PowerPoint loop, but half the time you find it broadcasting Windows XP screen saver, a black screen with an indecipherable error message, or a full blown BSOD.

There have been BSOD screensavers around for years. I seem to recall installing one on a co-worker's machine. Pretty realistic too. I like the way it does a re-boot, scans the disk, and finds lots of errors.
