Finally decided on torch
I had been considering different torches for quite a while now.
Thanks to all in the CPF for all the advice and the reviews. I finally decided on a torch.
I opted for the Nitecore SRT 6. I liked the SRT 7, but it had way to many whistles that I didn’t need(Blue, green led, police strobe, the extra beacon) but I did like the 960 lumens. I didn’t think 30 lumens would make a whole lot of difference. Some of the other brands I was looking at seemed too complicated to operate, did not have the variety of lumens, not high enough lumens. I really liked the SSR function, and ease of operation of the nitecore SRT’s. Can go from a VERY dim light moonlight to full power with a twist of the ring. Can go to any brightness in between without clicking thru various preset lumens.
When I got the torch the other day. Went outside that night and am very pleased with the SRT6. My “front yard” is an open field about 100 yards square and it really lit it up from one end to the other. The “side yard” is a river, also about 100 yards wide, and it lights up the other side quite nicely.
Now I need help to chose a good R18650 battery to power it. Can anybody recommend a good one? What brand is best; flat top, button top(or does it make a difference);, which mAh is the best for the money; where to buy them at the best price and a reputable dealer, etc. I am really confused with all the choices of brands(almost as bad as picking out the torch)What does everyone else like to use.
