Over on DIYMA, I saw a pic a while back of a carpenter using something that looked remarkably like an angle plate with extensions - so it was forming a support for the corner of a box.
Since I need some angle plates anyway for other stuff, I figure I'd ask; any idea what this would be called and / or where I could find one, preferably online?

thanks!

It sounds like you saw a box angle or a box table:

Most of these are huge ... even a tiny one will be at least 18" (450 mm) x 26" (650 mm) x 16" (400 mm) ... and weigh over 600# (300 kg). We used one on the radial drill, and that table was larger ... just under 2000# (820 kg).

Since you probably need something smaller ( ) cast iron V-blocks come in every size and shape you can imagine, from tiny to X-large.

There's an Eron B200 on eBay, one of their larger ones at 50# (22 kg)
