Anodizing ?

I recently bought an older EL Blaster 2d and want to replace the emmiter with SSC P4. I talked to Wayne @ EL and he explained I needed to anodize the heatsink. He gave me instructions but my question is has anyone done this before and what were your results? Also is there another way of using the P4 star, like maybe isolating it somehow but still dissapate the heat? This would be my first attempt at a mod so any thoughts would be helpful. The SSC P4 stars I have used, the rear is already electrically isolated
I have not had any problems with them overheating

All genuine star MCPCB are electrically isolated. That's why they are so simple to use. Anodized heatsinks are best for bare leds.
