I seem to sure be going through the P60's

I now have a third dead one.

Today I went to replace batteries in my 6P because it was starting to get dim.
I replaced the batteries with new ones and no light!

Once again, I checked batteries, played with the switch, all ok but no light.

I replaced the P60 LA with a new one and all was good again.

I don't know what to think. I have not called surefire yet and I was not going to, but after today I think I may give them a call Monday morning.

The 20 min. run time for the P61 would kill me.
I use my light daily and probly change batteries twice a week running the P60

The one before this this last one went out after I dropped it, my fault.

The one that went out today after a battery change I just put in a week ago.

Maybe I'm just expecting to much from a $15 light bulb...

Worth giving them a call (it's a toll free number 800 828 8809). How old is the P60 has just went? which SureFire is it from? Can you give us any details?

Thanks

Al

How old as in how long I used them or when they were made?
There are some numbers on them. Is that a date code?
The lastest one lasted a week.

I have a few P60's. Some I bought used and some I bought new.
I'm not sure what ones are what anymore as I put them in SC1 holders.

I have been using them in my 6P that I bought this summer at Cabela's.

As long as it's just some bad luck and not the history of the P60 I can live with a bad bulb or two.

Will see how long this one last /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Bring on the KL5 right?

Perhaps somebody will make a Luxeon Lamp Assembly for the 6P?

The code is either a manufacturer's [individual person] id or a batch id. I'm not sure.

Call them they will send you a new one a P60 should last a lot longer than that.

Wow-

In nearly twenty years of buying and using surefires, I've only replaced two lamps. One was for the M6 which was acknowledged as a bad run and the second was a p60 after maybe using it for 4 or 5 years.

Call them, let them know what's going on and telol us what their explaination is.

At this rate I would be happy to get 4 to 5 weeks out of one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

How often did you use your light that had the p60?

I have been using my 6P daily at work and even though I use it daily at work and dropped it once I would not say I'm hard on the light. I carry it on my belt in my holster so it's not like it rolling around in my toolbox getting beatup.

pahl-

I had one of the original 6P's. I used it weekly for about 3 years, then daily for another two years after that.

I guess I should also say that I replaced that 6P with a 9P which I still use and continued to use daily for a couple years and have never replaced that lamp. It is really banged up, I melted the lens and had to replace it. Dropped it so hard I dented the bezel, again no problems. The 9P is probibly 8 years old now and still on it's original lamp. Then bought a M6 which I did pop that bulb after 5 mins of use (Surefire acknowledged a bad batch and sent me several replacements and a whole new head as there were bits of glass embedded in the reflector) Then I added a E2 and the an E2e and have never had to replace any of those bulbs.
