Hello,

The more I dug into the forum for answers the more confused I got. Can somebody clear this issue up for me? Thanks.

I have three lights I'd like to get RCR123's for:

1) Gladius - My understanding is the Gladius works with 3.0V RCR123's. I saw a post where one guy recommends using 'Tenergy 3.0V RCR123' Which Tenergy RCR123 is safe for the Gladius? The 3.0V 900 mAh or the 3.0V 750 mAh? Also, is the same RCR123 3.0V battery that is safe to use with the Gladius safe to use with the Amilite T5? If not, which RCR123 is safe to use with the T5?

2) Surfire Z2 - I have a Cree P4 LED D26 Module 3.7-13V lamp in my Z2. Is it safe to use AW's RCR123's in this set-up?

Thanks in advance.

P.S.
My apologies if I'm beating a dead dog.

I'm not sure why I always post an answer to questions such as these. It's
a very confusing subject - with potential explosives involved - and I'm just barely confident enough to let myself play with them.

Just promise me you'll read my post, think about it, and then wait for someone who knows more than I do to answer the question before setting your self/house on fire.

Tenergy 750mah cells are, if I am not mistaken, LiFePo chemistry. They are safe, but I wouldn't count on getting anything near 750mah out of them. I've used them in my Amilite T5 without incident, but I have recently talked myself out of the practice. I don't have $80 to get a new T5, and I can find other uses for the LiFePo cells. The Tenergy 900mah batteries are voltage regulated cells, which are very unpopular around CPF. They are useless for incan. purposes; and not an attractive option for many LED applications, either. Can't help you on the Gladius question. For the Surefire, go nuts. AW RCR123 cells will only be providing 7.4v. Easily within the 3.7-13v range specified for the drop-in. Of course, you could stick LiFePo batts. in that one as well, though runtime's miserable with them.
AW sells LiFePo 123s through his battery sales thread in the Manufacturer's Forum. You should also check out http://e-lectronics.net/. Anyway, hope this was of some use. If not, don't worry: someone smarter will come along soon.
