I've been using a Maha C9000 since they first came out... a pre-order from Thomas-Distributing. When there was an issue with charge termination I sent it in for replacement before any of my batteries could get fried. Now, three or four years later, Slot 1 is stuck in charge mode at 125mah...

Even after leaving the charger unplugged for 12 hours, it comes right back on as if there was a battery in the slot.

I sent an email to Maha support explaining the issue and how I tried to resolve it, and the response was a question asking me for my mailing address and a statement that they are going to send me a new charger and a UPS label to mail the old one back.

I only post this because I believe companies that stand behind their products and provide such excellent support should be recognized and appreciated. So if there's anyone out there reading trying to decide between a Maha charger and another brand, please add this experience to your factoring!

Agreed.

Not too long ago, the display on my first C9000 went bonkers. I emailed Maha about the problem. They requested I send some pictures of the display problem, which I did. Six days later, I had a new C9000. I did have to return the defective unit, but as you said, they supplied a return label, so no problem really.

In addition, I asked if I could keep the older heavier duty wall wart that originally came with the earlier models, and they said "sure". That's pretty cool, as now I have a spare PS in case one of the switching ones I have fries. :)

What I really like about Maha (in addition to their great chargers) is that while the chargers come with a 3 year warranty, they seem to provide warranty support after the original warranty has expired.

That is very rare for any product, not just chargers.

I had a very similar experience. The LCD on my C9000 did not show numbers correctly. I e-mailed Maha support and they asked for my address. The next day a new C9000 was sent out to me. I haven't received it yet (They only sent it last Friday, and I'm in Canada which probably takes longer) but I'm assuming that it will contain a return shipping label for my old unit.

Great support, and great products.

While I've not needed to use Maha's customer support, I have had a similarly outstanding experience with Thomas Distributing. I had an order that was short when it arrived and they took care of it immediately, no muss - no fuss.

Too many companies treat their customers like something stuck to the bottom of their shoes. Companies like these two, that really shine in customer service, deserve both my accolades and my loyal patronage. So a humongous "KUDOS!" to both Maha and Thomas, from me! :twothumbs

It's been awhile since I browsed through here and this thread caught my eye. The display on my C-9000 has been getting worse and I thought I might have to eventually replace the charger at my cost.

After reading this thread last night I sent an e-mail to Maha with a brief description of the problem. Today I received a reply back asking for my address and that they would send me a replacement right away.

One simply can't ask for any better than that. I have received the same type of support from one other company and an ebay seller. It's too bad more companies don't follow suit. Many of the larger companies need to be hassled to death before they will even begin listen...and I have been there and done that.

With Maha, one simple email is all it took...that made my day...:twothumbs

Well, my only experience with MAHA customer service left me less impressed. Unable to find my charger's AC adapter, I emailed MAHA to ask how to order one. A woman wrote back, telling me they would sell me one for about $19 if I called them. I replied by email, "I'd rather not give out my credit card information by phone; isn't there a way I can order it online, in a secure page? That was the last I heard back.

Luckily, I found my AC adapter a few weeks later.

It's much more secure to give your credit card information to a trusted merchant over the phone than to enter it on a web page. That padlock thingy in the corner really counts for nothing as far as the safety and security of your credit card information is concerned... :caution:

Quick update - I received the charger Friday and have run it through a few paces. It seems to be fine. All I did was to Refresh/Analyze a few eneloop AA and AAA's. Will be sending the old one back tomorrow using the provided return shipping label...:) Thanks Maha !
