Another use for spare battery carrier

The orange cylinders that Wal-Mart sells to carry matches are great containers for carrying spare batteries. They are just the right length to hold two CR123 cells or a Pila 168S rechargeable. They are crush proof, waterproof, less than $1, and widely available.

But here's another use I just discovered for them. They can carry spare cash at the same time. Since they are a bit larger in inside diameter than the batteries, you can roll up some money around the batteries. The length of the case is the same as the width of US currency, so it fits perfectly and can hold several bills. The bills also serve to pad the batteries so they fit better and don't rattle.

The bills expand to hug the outside of the case, and batteries can slip in and out without a problem. There may be times when spare cash is as useful a backup as spare batteries.

Nice discovery, and yes spare cash can come in handy if its semiforgotten and not a daily withdrawal for odds and ends

sorry to find this post this late, but I have not been able to find this at my wal-mart. Anyone that has these products in their walmart can you tell me what section of walmart or even better yet a product # or sku # or something that I can get my people to order from.

Look in the camping section. I've seen them in a half dozen different stores. Target, Meijer, Galyans, just about any store selling camping gear should have them.

I have also used Surefire 6P and 9P to hold cash. Roll up the bill around the batteries and then slide them in. It is a little tight but works. imgadgetman
