Any chance for the SS P1 looking P1D?

I beleive most CPFers find this light really attractive.
Stanless Steel.
Form factor of the original P1.
Features of the P1D CE.

It seems a little wierd that Fenix would have only produced 10 of these while they produced over 100 Ti LODs.

Any chance of Fenix or any other custom modders making this light?

i've never seen that fenix before.. so only ten made?

here is a generic cree light that looks kinda like the p1 on ebay here:
it's pretty cheap too, $24 which includes shipping but only one level.

Yup, this particular SS Fenix one was mentioned in one of the threads in the litemania.com forums.

Yeah i have that aBay light on order (yes i ordered it even tho its crap just to see it's mod potential)
But as discussed in the reviews section, this UltraFire being sold on eBay its the worse light available for the money.

could you post a link to the review of the ebay light. i searched the review section and didn't see it.

btw, the ebay light in my link is called the spiderfire but looks just like the fenix p1, i don't know if thats the same as the ultrafire that you mention? thanks.

I suspect the SuperFire light in your link is indeed the same as the UltraFire, just rebranded. U can tell from the fit and finish, which is similiar to the UltraFire.

Here are the differences of the UltraFire/SuperFire comapared to the SS P1.
- SS P1 has textured reflector vs smooth reflector.
- SS P1 has a brass looking material around the threads.
- SS P1 has a smooth cylindrical body without any flat sided machining.

Sorry i do not have the link to that original thread on Litemania.com

thanks, that fenix ss p1 does look really nice.

i found a link to the ultrafire light and it looks like the same body as the ebay spiderfire but the spiderfire has a bigger hole where the cree sits exposing most of the emitter board.

I have confirmation directly from Fenix that they DID NOT manufacture
that light. It's copy. :D

That's strange, then it must probably have been a custom done by someone using the P1D CE eh...

Where does it claim to have a current regulated microprocessor driver?
I've looked into the P1D and now I understand why it's a bit bigger
than the P1. There a lot more circuitry required to do current regulation
combined with a microprocessor. It'll be a realy challenge to put it into
a P1. I was successful putting the P1D's circuit into my Ti PD. But
theres lots more space than the P1 :D

It was in the thread on litemania.com which was discussing this light and the rexlight.

The translated specs listed the exact same modes and features as the P1D CE electronics.

The same modes could be achieved with PWM, but you wouldn't have the current regulation of the real thing.
