I was thinking of buying some Eneloops finally, since I'm sick of constantly rechargeing my dead NIMH's after a few days. And I got to thinking they've been out for quite awhile now at 2000mAh capacity. Are there any larger capacity ones coming out soon?

I hope that if and when they do, they don't make the same unfortunate tradeoffs made in the past to increase capacity.

I just posted a comparison of a new Eneloop with an older Energizer 2300 mAh cell here.

My old camera's flash drains at 2.0 amps according to the marking on the battery cover, how well do you think it would hold up at this drain? I've been using some Energizer 2500's for a couple years now and some Sanyo 2500's for about a year. I'm just tired of recharging them all the time.

They hold up very well. And at 3 amps draw too, unlike the Energizer 2300 cells according to SilverFox in his NiMH shootout. (The Energizers basically just rolled over and died.)

And FWIW the last time I tested any Eneloops on my Maha MH-C9000 I got just over 2100mAh, so I guess that counts as higher capacity, although they're not marked as such.

Same here with my AA Eneloops on my LaCrosse BC-900 charger. I consistently get between 2100 and 2200mAh charge.
