Ok. I know this is nuts but I have been walking around the house for the last hour with my new L2d-CE. It is dark, wife and kids out and a beer in hand. It is brighter then my Maglight and I am still in shock. Is this normal? Should I venture outside? I am tempted to buy another light since I am having more fun then a kid in the candy store!

Your behaviour is perfectly normal for a flashlight wierdo!

Remember to fill a bowl or glass with water and test for water proofness as well.

New lights = hours of fun.

Just wait till Ur neighbor calls police cause they see someone walking around with flashlight:)

I had this happen once couple of years ago. I was working swing shift and came home about 3:00 am and as I normally do I snapped my red filter on my stinger and went about the couple tasks I needed to before I crawled into bed. My neightbor happened to be up to use the batroom and saw the light shining around my house.

I few minutes later while crawling into bed I heard voices outside my window. I immediatly grabbed my brightest retna burner, and my biggest slug thrower and headed for the door. At this point I heard the door bell ring. And recoganized our one of or local sergants.

I just told him I was to lazy to turn on all the lights in the house and didn't want to wake the little woman. He said, yea I do that too.

Turn on a couple outside lights so the neighbors won't as easily notice you lighting up the treetops.

Outside...back yard... with all your lights is where you should be. Chair, beer, headphones cranking. Not that I would really know...damm weirdo.

Thats funny cause I was at work this week walking through an empty space with no lighting at ~7pm when a squad car drove by and spotted me through the window. I work in an office building in NYC and three cops come running in expecting to find a burglar when its just me closing windows so we don't freeze pipes. I thanked them for keeping their eyes open and showed off my SF 8ax :grin2:.

You just need to get a dog so you can walk your flashlights.

Even cheaper, and a personel favorite, pretend you lost you dog and your out looking for it.

You WILL buy another light! And then, another, and another, and another...

Mark my words.

After I walk around the house with a new light, I then head out to the back yard to see how it does, and then aim it at some trees on the next block to gauge it's throw. If it's really dark (no moon) and I'm feeling extra enthusiastic, I might even go out front to shine it down the dark cul-de-sac to get another estimate of it's power, which I make by making mental comparisons of the new light versus the way I remember pasts lights performing. (i.e....the Mag85 lights up the whole end of the street, but doesn't quite hit the palm tree the way the HID did...)

I live in a relatively rural CT suburb, and we have trails that run through the woods. During the summer I like to take night-walks through them with my lights.

Well, at about 2 AM, get out your green laser and go to an upstairs window where you can see houses 3-4+ blocks away.......

See how many lights you can get to turn on by shining into windows.

Mount the Laser to your 8 inch Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain and see if you can get lights to turn on 3 miles away...... in another state!

Then grow up.

Oh wrong forum.... should be in Lasers... sorry.

What he said. Lol. That is exactly ONLY one reason why I take my dog for walk at night. :) Light test, exercise, stress relief, happy dog, etc! FTW.

i did the same exact thing when i got my k2 palmblaze.

I love day one with a new light! Whenever I get a few new lights, I will take a trip through the woods to a local CAVE. I consider it my flashlight proving grounds.

I do the same thing. The other day I got busted by the wife. I was shining one of my new lights in my basement and she snuck up on me! My wife understands my flashlight hobby and says she caught me in one of me "geek" moments.
To me its kinda like getting a brand new car. You drive it around for no reason other than just to drive it. Flashlight are kinda the same, we just shine them around for no reason other than just to shine them!

i sometimes get my TLE5 modded mag and use it as a light source as I made milk for my baby at nite. my excuse is that i am saving my electric bills as i can charge the battery at my workplace. :)
