I am trying to convince the wife I need to buy a CBA-II but want to know if any one has tried using one with windows vista or windows vista 64bit. Also any one know were to get a good deal on on of these?

I don't know for sure, but Vista 64-bit will give you more trouble than 32-bit. Vista 64-bit enforces the signed driver policies because of digital rights management and high definition. You have the RIAA and MPAA to thank for that, but any further discussion should be taken to the Underground.

Do you know the email address? I disabled the driver signing thing but have found vista to be very picky.

You could try grabbing the free VMware and installing XP in a virtual machine - it should work there.

Or there's always going back to XP for your computing rather than Windows ME v2 (err, Vista :)

I just wish they would do something for us Mac users - the app looks relatively simple and I'm sure the USB/IF is close enough to a serial port that a driver wouldn't be necessary.

Then again the "convincing the wife that the new C-9000 is not good enough" may not be successful! :)

There is limited USB support in the free VMWare Server and Player. Full USB support is one of the incentives to drop $$$ for VMWare workstation. I doubt the CBA-II would work with VMWare Server. I would be surprised if it DIDN'T work under workstation.

It might just be simpler to set up your machine for dual-boot.

My guess is that it installs as a serial port or another, simpler type of USB device (like a printer). I would imagine that it would work in VMWare Server.

Anyone with a CBA care to try? All it costs is time! :)
