Any RC-G2 2 modes?

Yep, easy. Any 16 mm (or 17mm) circuit will do. I just got some in, will be making mine 2 or 3 modes (have a DX 15880 ciruit on hand).

Yep, just have to order some more parts n stuff.

or

I guess I could always sell you mine after I've built it. I just wanted to build one up to use the circuit I purchased before.

What emitter did you want in it tho? Q5 or nuetral?

The 3 modes, well, it may be better with 2 modes (not sure about the spacing) but I'll start with 3. The circuit is supposed to work with Nimh and Li-on so should be a cool little light.

Let me build mine (tell me what emitter you prefer) and I can likely just sell it yo you. ALl parts are new. I just wanted to use up my spare circuit in a fun build. BTW, the Romisen body is grey.

PM me and let me know how much for the whole light. I think the spacing should be good because its' 50ma, 350 ma, and 1000 ma. Most likely I won't use the 1000ma much (only wow factor), but still good to have it when I do need it.

Do you have the R2 neutral? I am very fond of the one you sold me. I believed it was WG.

Do you think there is a big different between mid and high mode?

Since I use AA nimh and alky exclusively, do you think I can get high mode (1000ma)?

Gunga, I think I will go with the 2 modes like you recommended above.

No, I don't think so. While I am not sure, I don't think this circuit gives 1000 mA with Nimh.

The only circuit taht gives that much was the RV7 circuit (rare) or the older version of the DX7880 circuit (but thta could only be wired for 1 or 20 modes).

Those gave 700 mA on high. 1000 mA is not very likely on nimh. THat would take around 3+ amps from the battery and drain it in 30 - 40 mins and generate a ton of heat. YOu can get high output from 14500, but don't expect to output an amp from nimh.

I will order the circuit for you, but please think about this and send me a PM to confirm you want to proceed.

I am unsure of what the modes really look like. I would read up on the circuit some more first.

Yep, I think you are right.

I actually wish he would offe rit in 16mm size. Much more useful than 14mm in many applications.

I think 14mm is too small for the RC-G2. I might be possible to get it to work, but the way the G2 is constructed, you would have to build up the size of the circuit to at least 15-16 mm for it to work.

Okay, here is an update.

I have modded my G2 with a neutral emitter and the DX 15880 circuit. This is a very versatile circuit. It is optimized for 14500 and runs quite well on nimh (1.2V).

That said, the level selection is not the best for nimh. I have it set for 3 modes at the moment becuase I like a mid mode and think I prefer the low (might be a touch lower than in 2 mode configuration)

The levels are spaced a little too closely overall. There is a distinct difference, but the mid and high levels are pretty close on nimh. On 14500, the high is a screamer, very bright, on nimh, it is pretty close to medium. Not bad, just not super impressive (my mulit-meter does not do well in current measurements but I got around 2 Amps at the battery on high, so likely around 500 mA to the LED, please note that I don't have high confidence in these reading though).

This reminds me of other lights I have seen that run best on 14500 but perform pretty well on nimh.

Memory mode requires the light to be on for 2 seconds to l lock the mode.

The pill had to have some slots filed out of it to fit the circuit because some components are right on the edge. I was unable to solder the circuit to the pill effectively (17 mm circuit) but it works very well since it is held in place by the pill being screwed into the body. More work than I had imagined.

The Shiningbeam circuit would be nice, but it would require a decent amount of work to try and get it to stay put since the 14mm diamter is too small for this pill.

I have sold my last light with the elusive RV7 circuit, too bad, that circuit would be ideal for this light.

I figure it won't be much a different between mid and high on nimh that's why I opted for 2 modes Low/High.

What otf you think the low/high on this driver?

I have recently switched it to low/high instead of the 3 mode. For my purposes, the 3 mode is not that useful on this light due to the relatively poor level separation.

low/high estimates:

10 - 15 lumens/80 - 90 lumens (nimh)
10 - 15 lumens/180 lumens (14500)

It screams on 14500 but gets hot quickly.
