Anybody have sucsess cleaning a Novatac tailcap yet?

I've noticed the switch on my Novatac is getting touchy, it comes on fine, butswitching modes can be tricky, sometime three clicks takes four, sometimes you give it two and it thinks you gave it three etc.
I just wonder if anyone has had one apart, cleaned it, and put it back together with any sucess/improvment, and what was used to clean it.

I had a flaky tail cap... just contact Novatac's support and they will send you a replacement.

When I got the replacement tail cap I liked the knurling on the old cap better, so I swapped the guts. The knurling on the new caps is more aggressive and the color was slightly different.

How did you get yours apart? The ring on the inside has 4 dimples and I tried to get a pair of needle nose pliers into the dimples to try and turn it out, but no go. Am I simply not appling enough force?
