I found a guy selling some batteries.
Some Duraloops, then Shopper Drug Mart batteries, then some "Japan made 2700mah's".
The 2700's he's selling are $12 for a pack of 4. Not bad price I guess.

Only thing is, anyone heard of AMEX?
Doing a google search comes up with chinese sites selling many random brand batteries, but i've found one site that has the same product i believe.

In his email, i've told him i've never heard of Amex, and he says "same as many of the brand name nimh batteries that are made in china"... YET, he states these batteries are "Japan" made?!

Oh yeah, and the dude fails at using MACRO on his camera...

Strange unknown batteries in unknown condition from an unknown seller, and $12/4 is a good price? Under those circumstances $4/4 would be a good price, $12 is vastly too much. Why would you even give it a second glance?

Haha, well of course $4/4 is good.

Here in Toronto, Ontario, $10 or less for a pack of 4 duraloops are considered good already, and many people are hopping on them.

Assuming these batteries are actually "known" to some extent, i'd consider $12/4 actually pretty okay.

But thanks for your input Mr. Happy :)

What I mean to say is that here in the US a pack of 4 NiMH of a reputable brand from a major retailer costs between $10 and $15. For that money you get to buy from a shop that will most likely give you a refund if you take them back and say they were faulty, and from a manufacturer that can be trusted to stand by their product and replace it if you get no luck from the retailer. You also make sure you are getting fresh stock that has not been sitting in a warehouse for two years or something.

All of those things are factored in that $10 - $15 price and are part of what you are paying for. If you are not getting those extra things, then $10 - $15 is no longer looking like good value and you should expect a big discount to compensate.

That's all I'm saying.

Hmm. I've never looked at it that way before.
Now having all that said you make a very clear and good point.

I doubt these batteries would be true 2700's like the Sanyo 2700's.

I've already have enough Duracell 2650's in the fridge, i'm sure those will our perform these "Amex 2700's".

I have Duracell AA's 2650mah for my camera flash and Fenix LD20 and LD10 i had for about 2 1/2 years now they work great at that time i pad about $20 for a 8 pack i get about 305 take or give photos on a charge but the key is a slow charge normly 6 hour works great for me. The cheap ones like Amex they go dead real fast and the shelf life is for crap
