Just talking to Jo at ITC and he said it's just out and 30% brighter than their sst-50..said it's his favourite drop-in..great price also..it's 3-mode 100%, 50% and strobe..3v-6v ..i'm about to order one, but would love to hear from anyone who has one or has any beamshots..

I am curious about this as well. They have them for $24 on the ITC sale site. It doesn't mention anything about 3 mode though.

I placed an order for a single mode today- did not see a 3 mode on the Solar Force site.

Solarforce SST-50 and SSC-P7 drop-in modules are not listed on the www.solarforce.hk official website.

do you have a link? i did search but no luck. thanks.

These are certainly not driven very hard!
Wonder how they expect full lumens at less than 1A?

I am curious about this too. I am going to be purchasing a L2P next week and am still undecided which drop-in to get.

Jo is my source..I order from him all the time..he says there is a high lo strobe model..

I'm sorry to digress from the main topic but, does anyone know if you purchase a Solarforce host from itc_shop on ebay if it comes with the original packaging (ie. the blister pack or box etc). I was thinking about adding a p60 host to my collection of flashlights and I've been hearing much praise about solarforce.

yep you get the package..they are well worth the price for what you get..

I got my link from Facebook, If you do a facebook search for Solarforce they have a page with updates specials etc linked to a website. Being only new not sure if it is allowed to mention the page or not. As I said I took the punt on a single mode, I will post what it is like when it get here. The paypal confo shows the same code name as the ITC shop

"Solarforce® 900 Lumens P7 led 1 mode with excellent bulb reflector, maximum the CREE led output performance
The new version bulb output are more concentrate and focus, the light are bright & white"

Thank you pounder, now i will wait until someone reviews this new P7 drop-in and decide on what drop in to get in the mean time

I ordered a 3 mode along with a L2P for $17.99, can't wait to check out the P7.

I've ordered from ITC about 8 or 9 times now. Currently waiting on 2 orders. So far, everything has worked out fine. Only negative is that THEY never leave positive feedback for any of their customers.

I'll have to check this out... I discovered their R5 drop in recently - and I like it much better than the R2s...

Am I the only sceptic here? It may be a good drop-in but it sure does not sound like Solarforce makes it. It is not on their web site and you can only get it from one store which is on ebay and facebook?

Also, my favorite is the sentence above: "Solarforce® 900 Lumens P7 led 1 mode with excellent bulb reflector, maximum the CREE led output performance". :laughing:CREE does not make the P7 emitter.

900 Lumens is the max an SSC P7 will do which I am pretty sure is at 2.8 amps. This drop-in, even if driven at 2.8amps, will be around 700 lumens OTF at startup and fall quickly from there because a host that small can't handle the heat (unless they include a massive copper Malkoff like heat sink - which I don't think they do for that price).

Assuming the light is only driven at 1 amp like somebody said, it will be nowhere near 700 otf lumens. I would be surprised if it was 350 otf lumens. For the money this is fine but not if it is advertised as 900 lumens.
