Arc 4+ level 3 brightness

Ok I know that I can change the brightness settings of 1 and 2. But can the 3rd one be changed? I have tried, but seems that it changes #2 instead?!?!?!

Oh and one more thing. Why doesn't Arc ship out the "advanced" instructions, instead of the "basic" ones? People that buy these and don't care to check on this fantastic forum would never know that the Arc 4 indeed has a lot more functions to offer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The 3rd level (triple-click = dim mode) can not be changed.

the 3rd brightness level is really "dim" mode, it is the lowest power setting, like Full power is the highest. It's not changeable... Sorry...

As for the "Why doesn't Arc ship out the "advanced" instructions" question... You'll have to ask Peter what his plans are. I think originally he didn't want to confuse the average Joe.
Several folks on the CPF suggested including a business card sized DVD of the videos.
I still think the printed instructions should be included, in case someone doesn't have an internet connection or a DVD player, but that's just me...

My 4+ is great but the minimalist instructions are lacking. This is about the only electronic product that I've purchased and immediately pitched the printed stuff. At this price I would expect a quick reference guide and a more detailed set of instructions. But then I didn't have any trouble tracking down the info for changing the settings.

But once again the hardware is great. I'm very impressed with the button on my 4+. It has just the right amount of movement/feed back for me. Also the triple click setting is actually useful for wandering around indoors at night. And as the "ultimate" praise for the little Arc, I gave our secretary my E1e/KL1... I knew that I just wouldn't be using it any more.
