Hi guys. When the ARC 4 first came out I ordered a ARC 4 second.
I received a light #0319 that I couldn't understand why it rated as a second. I have carried every day since. A very nice light.
Yesterday I decided to buy another ARC 4 second for a buddy whose birthday is tomorrow. In the process I ordered 2. I received today ARC4 Second #1012 and #1110. Now I have an idea of why #0319 is a second. It was/is the beam color and brightness were not great.
Of the two I received today BOTH are much brighter and whiter. One #1012 has a very nice bright beam and a switch with no play or throw in the switch. The other is also bright but it has a small very slight purple fringe to the beam. But it also has a much better switch.
The trade off is a good switch or a good beam. I will take the beam every time.
I would like to make the switch work better. I switched battery holders and switches. It made no difference. The actual switch mechanism is in the head of the light.
We will see if use of the light changes the switch.
I am not sure just how they made these so much brighter.
But they did. Even a second is a nice light. Very nice.
I will keep and carry my old ARC 4 until I get tired of it.
Then maybe something new will be around.
