Arc-AAA and Rechargeable Lithium Battery?

Hi - I was wondering if its possible to use an Arc-AAA P with a rechargable AAA Lithium battery, such as this one:

I'm assuming not, as it runs at 3.6v (unless that info. isn't correct), but would be interested to have things confirmed...

A good assumption. It will not be good for the life of the LED.

Would it smoke the circuit, though? I seem to remember the answer to be no, but you're the expert and wanted to double-check my memory. :thanks:

No it will fry the Arc.

There'a a 5V boost regulator in there, however, the upper output current limit is 100mA for it. Max Vin of the chip is 6V and the internal MOSFET has a 350mA current limit on it. The Schottky and inductor should be fine, however, what would likely happen is that the thermal limitations of the IC would be exceeded which could lead to failure and the LED would be badly over-driven.
