I just received an Arc AAA with a red LED and it appears to my eye to be far brighter than the two other white ones I have. I swapped out batteries between them and it remains much brighter.

Other than a pocket clip and a new LED color, have there been any other changes to the AAA lately? I can't see any, but I'm no expert.

I thought the red Arc AAA was discontinued, where did you get it ?

TADGear....I'm thinking about getting several more. The more I use it the more impressed I am.

Thanks for the info /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

If you don't already own one, it might be worth getting a blue one (the human eye is very sensitive to blue light, so blue LED's appear very bright).

Ignore the bit about the blue light appearing brighter, I was thinking of the turquoise Arc (thanks mike /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

The posting "If you don't already own one, it might be worth getting a blue one (the human eye is very sensitive to blue light, so blue LED's appear very bright)"

That is not correct, the human eye is not sensitive to blue light - it is most sensitive to "Greenish-Yellow"

LEDs are more eff at the longer wavelengths since it takes lower energy to excite the electrons to IR/RED than to the higher energy orbits for the shorter wavelengths such as Blue

Thanks for putting me straight Inretech /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif, got confused (it doesn't take much /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif) after thinking back to some posts I read about the turquoise Arc /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/twak.gif
