Do all UV LED have short half life < 100 hr?

Is the UV LED used in this product affected by this limitation as well?

I'm not sure of a UV LED's expected lifespan, but it is significantly shorter than other LEDs. And ARC's warranty on the UV is 1 year as opposed to the 10 years with their other lights.

We've increased the warranty on the UV's we have been making for the past year to our standard 10 years.

The units we use now are rated at 100k hours.

My mistake, Peter. I hadn't seen notice of the upgraded LED & warranty before. I guess it IS true that staring into UV will affect eyesight. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

100k hours? Whoah .. the last number I heard was 10k. Sounds like Nichia is pretty inventive there, too.
