Congratulations PG. Hope it is a smooth move. I was a "professional" mover at one time. I won't scare you with the horror stories.

If I come through Tempe on my bike I would really enjoy a tour. It would also be a pleasure to meet you.

Jim

Hope you have a lot of luck at the new facility. Next time I have to drag myself back to Phoenix, I'll see if you have time for me to stop by....

I felt like giving you a call last time I was there, but didn't want to bother you on short notice.

Mazel Tov or whatever it is you are supposed to say to someone upon relocating.

GROUP BUY!!! Er, I mean, tour! Group tour at Arc flashlight (Next summer you think?) I could probably even try and come

Good luck Peter.
I'm sure it will prove itself to be a very wise decision.

PS: I received the new LS1 today. I'm very happy with it! Thanks!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">NOOO! Not summer time. I refuse to come back to Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe during the summer. I endured the last 12 of them, hating every moment. Make it Christmas holiday (for the kiddies still in school) or something like that and I'm in.

Wow, I can imagine it already...factory tours.. Peter, will you also be giving out free ARC AAA to tourist visiting your new facility just like how they give out free samples of Hershey's chocolate at Hershey Park, PA?

Congratulations and best wishes for many more successful years, Mr. Gransee!

We finally have begun our move into the new office this week.

Our new address (for warranty, orders, billing etc):

Arc Flashlight, LLC.
1835 East 6th Street
Suite 21
Tempe, AZ. 85281

Our phone numbers are still:

(480) 752-8554
(480) 775-1457 (fax)

The phone company is still working on our phone and fax so those numbers will probally not work until next week. We can temporarily be reached at:

(480) 449-9568

Things are going fairly smoothly, but you may have trouble reaching us by email/fax/phone until at least next week when everything should be back to 100%.

We can now provide factory tours by appointment for those interested in seeing where the Arc flashlights are made.

I am excited about this new move because it will enable us to more precisely control the quality and timelyness of our production.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Peter Gransee
President

Oh goodie! Peter has a new setup! Congrats. I hope things roll more smoothly for you now...

Congrats PG. How about a Pic for those who cannot come to AZ?
P.S. when you have time. ;-)

Best wishes. Reserve a corner for 3-LED, variable output ARC AA production!

Any pics?

Just paid a visit to Peter's new facility today. At his urging, I registered in this forum and this is my first post. Yooohooooo! Ahem,... Anyway I got the grand tour and saw ton's of flashlights (drool, drool) and other cool things that's in the works, which most of you are already aware of. After the royal treatment that I got, I just had to fork over some money to him for an ARC LS second. Honestly, I looked at various seconds that he had on hand and their defects were so minor, he had to point them out to me. He seemed genuinely anal about quality which is a rare trait these days. It's easy to see why he has such a loyal customer base. Keep up the good work, Peter, and best wishes.

BTW, I consider myself a flashaholic since I've successfully modded two flashlights (Surefire 6Z and a Super Pelilite) to LS's. They're current regulated and put out as much light as the LS I got today (just finished unscientific testing in my dark garage). The 6Z is powered with either 1AA (not as bright) or 1x123 (brighter), and the Pelican light powered by 2C cells (brightest by a small margin). Unfortunately, I have two Luxeons with the puke green beams. Serves their purpose as task lights I guess.

Cheers

Welcome to CPF CM. I think most of us would wet our pants for a chance to go through PG's bin of seconds to hand pick a LS. How did you current regulate your mod's?

I used the Zetex ZXSC300 circuit that's been floating around here. It's basically their app note on their website DN61. I went for simplicity which means ease of layout and assembly and low parts count. Been happy with the performance as I've been using these lights over a month now. I estimate efficiency in the low 80%. Run time is about 4 1/2 hours with 1AA 1600maH NiMh and 3 hours with 1X123. The C cells I haven't done a runtime test yet. I did have to get an Arc LS, just because, and I wanted to compare another Luxeon Star flashlight to my home brew. The Arcs are very nice. Been thinking of getting a first to add to the collection.

It sounds like you had better leave this board at once in order to keep your sanity and spare change.
No really, I think you may have found a new home here. Hang on to your wallet.
