We can use the same program used to vote on the color of the CPF Members Only ARC AAA

Nice of you to ask me if I minded setting up another one

Seriously though, it`s an interesting idea and if it gets enough support (and support from those who matter, ie Peter Gransee) then I`ll be happy to set up another vote thingy. And in christmassy colours too!

Payment and Logistics
Members, posting a story or not, send $1.00 to ARC for payment

How about setting up a PayPal account for this?

That way, the most members possible can participate, including those without credit cards, overseas members, and those with already limited funds. Plus, those with cards can use them to contribute easily as well.

Craig,
I'm not familiar with Paypal.

Details please.

Sounds like an interesting idea. Why would you collect the $1? Is this a raffle for charity with the flashlight being the incentive?

Are you buying the flashlight from us and then raffling it?

Need more info. Thanks KT!

Peter

Wow, details.

My idea is to have members send the $1.00 directly to ARC LLC as advanced payment. What ever is left over after paying for the unit and shipping, I thought ARC LLC might just send the remainder to our charity of choice. I thought that sending the funds to a well-known business might be a better idea versus sending it to an individual.

x.com or paypal.com

Provides a simple and instantaneous way for people to send money to other people, using a Visa or a Master card (and maybe some others), a checking account, or money from an existing balance in your paypal account (this is what I do).

They also offer electronic transfers to and from your bank at no charge, so it is no problem getting your hands on the cash once you've been sent it.

For non-commercial use, it's free.
Commercial users it's like 1.9% or 30 cents per transaction, whichever is smaller.

With the Christmas holiday arriving soon and the highly anticipated introduction of the ARC LS to hopefully occur before year end, I introduce my idea of a ARC LS Christmas Contest. The winner of the contest receives a Christmas 2001 edition of an ARC LS with a choice of the LED color and 1 battery pack. The color would be either red or green (Christmas colors). ...or not. Laser inscription would be XMAS 2001 LTD. ED.

Contest Criteria
CPF Members post a story on various uses of the ARC AAA. I've already started a "thread" entitled ARC AAA Files in the LED, Electrolumenescent and Lasers section. CPF Members vote on the story we like best. We can use the same program used to vote on the color of the CPF Members Only ARC AAA. Posts will use the following format:

Under (state the category of uses here) Uses (see my examples in the thread ARC AAA Files)

Text of story will go here.

Payment and Logistics
Members, posting a story or not, send $1.00 to ARC for payment. With almost 800 members, we should not have trouble paying for the unit and shipping. There will only be 1 winner. Funds in excess of the cost and shipping charges will be donated to a charity benefiting NYC's finest. I will send the 1st $5.00.
