I was thinking of replacing the slightly bluish low dome that i have on my arc lsl with a 3 watt swam or twak high dome, i was wondering how bright it would be compared to a 1 watt R3J or Q3j bin being drived at 3 volts thanks.

Unless your light drives the Luxeon at at the VERY MINIMUM 700mA (1000mA preferably), it would be a waste to use a LIII when a 1watter would be the same. IMHO

My LS1, first run, is pulling 570mA's from fresh alkalines, and 540 from fresh NiMH's. Not sure how much voltage the regulated circuit is using. I think a nice R2H or R2L would be perfect for the LS1, with a fraen optic.

Arc's are biased at 333mA. It is a waste to put a 3W lux in there unless you're planning on turbocharging the circuit. Remember, the lumen output of the Lux III's are taken at 700mA and 1A. Lumiled's is not making any claims on output when you underdrive them though I would expect they will put out similar light as a 1W driven at the same level.

thanks for the info guys, in that case does anyone know where i can get r2j binned 1 watt hd's? thanks.

CM, are you tallking about bias of current LS's, or older voltage regulated LS's?
