How does one know if he has the EV or not?

there are no special markings on the ev. I believe Chris M posted some beam pictures of the ev and standard turquoise. if you could find those then it would be easy to tell.

If you bought it from TTS, it will have "EV" with a circle around it low on the back of the blister pack. No way to tell the lights apart unless you can compare the output of a non-EV turquoise with an EV. If you bought it directly from Arc, and asked for the EV, you're set.

OK, thanks. I have to check and see if I kept the packing. I did purchase it from ARC, but didn't specify EV. I just ordered the light in turquoise.

I just got ( 2hours ago ) 5 EV's from TTS (great gifts!). All 5 had EV written with the circle on the back, all 5 had the same tint LED and the "gold" coating inside. Very nice.

Interesting. I just found my blister pack for the 1-Turquoise that I ordered. Nothing about EV, no circles, nothing but Turquoise and I purchase straight from ARC.

Peter's gonna have to give the final answer on that. I'm sure that the ones William sells have the EV in a circle. The ones bought directly from Arc may not have the note on them.

HELP!!! My EV was mixed in with my normal turquoise lights. How do I tell the difference between them? I never did see a difference in brightness to the naked eye.

How about checking for the gold coating inside. If only 1 has it, it's probably your EV. But if all the lights look the same, what difference does it make? TX

I agree with Tex (as usual - he's a smart guy). If you can't tell the difference, it does't really matter which one is the EV, does it? Turn all your turquoise lights on, then try to convince yourself that one is brighter. Pull that one out and engrave "EV" on the tail. Done.
