I've been reading all the hubbub about the new ARC4 and it sounds like there are a couple of features people want added that didn't make it into the design this time around. This is sort of my attempt to create one after market item that addresses everybody's needs...

::THIS IS JUST A DRAWING::
I have no idea how to actually produce this thing, but if YOU do,
I'll be first in line to buy one... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wow, looks great /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

While dreaming, please cover the tail section of the attachment with a rubber-like surface to make it easy to grip with the teeth. Being able to hold the light in my teeth while I do some short task is an important feature of EDC lights for me.

"dream attachment" version 2 will definitely have a rubber sleeve..
...BTW I forgot to mention that because of the angle, you can't see the tritium marker on the other side... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

While you're at it, add laser-engraved scale for measuring, switch click instructions, periodic table, and dictionary. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif But actually maybe Arc will decide to make this--it looks VERY useful...

JPEG, the man with many talents. Great job. Can't wait for version 2.

Perhaps you could throw on a keyring attachment at the tail end.

ooh thats good

you could use grub screws to secure it better to the head- it would be a added comfort to know that i wont shear the clip screws at any time if i had to bust a thick skull--- dont bet on gransee making this - i dont want to speak for the boss massa but i remember him saying that he "would feel very badly if he found out that someone was hurt with on of (his) lights."

add a good lanyard hole to the end too. for some reason gransee decided to leave that out of the base model ls4 (i must take that up with him next week)

Yeah, I was thinking of using a stretchy nylon strap instead of the rigid metal strip It would still buffer the knurling, but you could also remove the end cap without having to unscrew the attachment. You'd probably want a less aggressive bezel too. In all practicality, it would be hell on the pockets... For durability you'd want to make the bezel about 3/4" longer.
One could probably make a rubber coated metal tail cap with a keyring attachment, but I'm guessing that no matter how hard that rubber is, the keyring would tear it over time.
I don't have a solution for that quite yet...
I'd draw another picture, but It's late, and I'm delirious.../ubbthreads/images/graemlins/faint.gif
Anyone want to try making one of these for real???

Hi Trevor. The light is called the Arc4 now, BTW. And the base model and "+" model will be cosmetically the same, I'm sure.

ooh thats embarassing darell - thanks for the correction.

as far as how it appears we all know gransee tweaks his lights to perfection and given that i will have months to subliminate my ideas on him on a near daily basis i refuse to accept at this point that the arc4 (see im teachable) will not end up with a respectable lanyard hole before it is finished. that or i will figger out a attachment suitable for the purpose.

Maybe not one of those exactly.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sssh.gif

Aragorn, as for the "respectable lanyard hole", I fully agree with you.
It think the hole that the current LSL/LSH have is very good and would make the ARC4 "just perfect" for even more people.
