I'll post the Microsoft Publisher 2000 file if anybody wants to improve this.

Before doing this I had never drawn a thumb in my life. Now that it's done, I've still not drawn a thumb /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I printed mine on 2 x 3 1/2 inch business card stock. Now all I need is an Arc4 to go with it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey, thats a great idea! I also thought about a "quick reference card" the last days, but was too lazy to look up the advanced instructions and design one card on my one.

If your card could be improved and printed on a plastic-card, it could perhaps be included with every new Arc4. This could be very helpfull to a lot of people, because I think if you carry your Arc4 around with you for about half a year and never use the advanced options, you are likely to forget how they exactly worked.

I don't think including such a card with every Arc4 would cost that much, so perhaps this could be realized.

George---This is a great idea. It should be available on the Arc website after the product is launched.

In the Arc4 testing thread I said that the Arc4 was too complicated and several people disagreed.
Now you guys are prepared to walk around with an INSTRUCTION SHEET for a FLASHLIGHT. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Honestly, I don't need the card. Once you see the blinking sequence, they make enough sense that you can figure out what is being signified. And again, you aren't going to be changing the settings every day. Or every week. Maybe not even every month or year. You set the light the way you like it, and happily go about your business of impressing the babes.

George,

I like this, but I agree with Darell that it may not be necessary. (But then I've been reading these threads like they're the Victoria's Secret catalogue.)

One note, though. Unless I've misunderstood this, I believe that when you start with the light on, press for full power, and then release, the light doesn't turn off, it simply returns to the previous brightness level. At least that's what all the instructions and Peter's videos seem to indicate.

Not to be a smart-a$$ but what if you lose your card? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I wonder if you could wrap a spare copy around the battery inside the battery pack.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Oops /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif Yes, it goes back to normal ON status. It's fixed now.

I agree it's not really necessary but including something like that with a product adds polish to the package -- of course with the LS coming in a zip-lock baggie...

I never used the little fold up reference card that came a Nokia cell phone, but I definitely noticed that my next phone did not have one (though it needed it much more).

I think thats exactly WHY some people could need that card. If you would change the settings every day, you already know how to do it. But if you do it once every few months, I doubt that you instantly remember every option and what they exactly do.
(Well, probably you remember them after all those months, but not everyone is a flashaholic)

It'll all make sense when you get your hands on one. Try out the simulator, and you'll see that the flash sequences actually DO make enough sense that you don't need a cheat-sheet. I NEVER remember stuff like this, and I can muddle my way through without the manual with no problem at all. It helps to remember that there are exactly seven options in there. If you get lost just boogie "around the horn" and start from the SOS flashes as *one* again.

George: This idea rocks... Please allow me to bump this post back to the top by offering a set of improved thumb graphics... (Not that there is anything wrong with your version... ) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Since this is the thread liked to from the FAQ, I just wanted to add the link to the PDF version here...
