Are Sanyo 123's date coded?

Are Sanyo 123\'s date coded?

If they are, could someone tell me what they mean? I just got a 20 pack and the only marking on the battery is " 1 B".

My Sanyo-GEs were blister packed and the date was printed on the cardboard - 2011. The batts themselves I have left are stamped "GD" Dunno if that's a date code or what.

According to one source I found the date is when it was made. The first letter the year A=1996, and the second the month A=Jan.

So if thats an I and not a 1, and the code is as above it was made in Feb of 2004. The GD Apr 2002.
