Are these hard throwing lights imaginary?

I was looking for a led light with a 1" tube that would throw for 250-300 yds(a stretch, I know). Looked around here, picked out a couple likely candidates. The rapidfire spear and the jetbeam raptor rrt-1. (and tiablo a9)

The jetbeam rrt-1 isn't available yet, was supposed to be out a month ago. I have seen for sale on a few websites as pre-orders. Is this typical for flashlights? I dont want to order and get a light 6 months later in the mail.

The rapidfire spear I cant find anywhere except for threads on here. No body sells these things. Is it not out yet either?

Get the Dorcy 220 lumen rechargeable LED flashlight, it's amazing. It has a throw of over 300 yards in a needle-like beam, and is one of the longest throwing LED flashlights available. I can attest to its great quality and reliability as I own one and use it all the time. Thread: LINK

I think this thread might need to be moved to the LED Flashlights forum.:)

The Spear is no longer in production. If you managed to find any remaining units at a retailer (try 4sevens.com), chances are they're from the final run which came with a textured reflector only. It's still a very nice light, but it won't throw nearly as far as without the smooth reflector.

If you don't need spill in the beam, get the Tiablo A9 aspherical package.
All it has is a hotspot (or should I say hotsquare) and a dim halo around it.
The head is slightly larger than the Spear.
If throw is what you want, then this light delivers---Big Time.

:mecry: Adding tiablo a9 to the list of imaginary flashlights, I see the extra heads for sale, but no light.:sigh:

That thing looks awesome though, new contender if I can find one.

I got mine from flashlightconnection.com
He seems to be out of the A9's now, you may have to email him to see when the next batch will come in.
Worth the wait if more is coming in.

I'm surprised not to see these on your list,DBS ,Tiablo A10,sunlite 8WFP and sunlite 16WFP all great throwers but the 16WFP offers both flood and throw being multi die led.

And yes I think this would be better in the LED FLASHLIGHTS section

I thought this thread would work in led lights as well, but it got bumped here.

The dbs(27mm) and a10(34mm) dont have 1" tubes, not familiar with sunlight will check them out. The a10"g" is another light that is not yet released(end of april alleged release date), but it is coming with a 1" tube.

Would the aspherical lense work on the a10g, since it has a 1" body like the old a9?

Sunlites have 1" tubes and throw around 250M plus I know I have them :D

BTW both the 16WFP and 8WFP are compatible with each other and other sunlite bodies and heads great for lego fun :twothumbs

[edit]In fact there are beam shots of the 8WFP at over 300M

Check out Selfbuilt's brand new post in the flashlight review section involving the Tiablo G lights.
He compares them with some of the current top throwing lights.
The Tiablo A9 aspherical package that I mentioned earlier is also (excuse the pun) thrown in for comparison.
