Well its nice to see all of you ive just recieved my first luxeon so ime a bit hyper at the moment.....
some of you seem a bit alarming,some reassuringly calm.. who are we?? flashologists,here in uk torchologists? portable photon generation consultants..???? is my wife a torchobhobic ?? who are we?? we all want to belong but where do we fit in or should i be in the pshchology forum..?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif alec

I believe the correct term for us is "Flashaholic". Who coined it and when is a matter for debate and exhaustive research deep in the archives, but it is what we generally refer to ourselves as today. We are united here (and even sometimes divided) by our common fascination for portable illumination devices.

Some might say we fall in the category of nerds, geeks, wierdos. Others would say we are specialists, elitists, connoseurs (spelled correctly or not). And then there are those of us who rely on illumination tools for our everyday jobs and lives, and don`t care what classification they fall in. But ultimately our quest is the same - to seek the holy grail, oops, wait, wrong movie /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif , rather to find the perfect light. Whatever that light is and however we go about finding it is entirely up to the individual`s wants and needs.

But welcome, why don`t you stay a while, and even if you don`t ever find *your* perfect light, hopefully you`ll enjoy the search. I know I am.

The correct term for us is indeed "flashaholic".
