Okay, I made a trade with a guy I work with. (I traded a Nitecore NEX for a Surefire M4.)

I vaguely remembered seeing the light earlier before we agreed to the trade. When he brought it to work yesterday I noticed that he ENGRAVED his name and badge number ALL OVER THE LIGHT. :banghead:

Sigh.
 
lol dang...well you'd sound like a real bad A$$ if u said you stole that M4 from a cop....

its okay, u can always trade it again to someone who doesnt mind it being engraved =]
 
Well, you can always strip the light and re-anodize it. Depends on how deeply it is engraved though. If it is deep enough, you might have to grind that section down to remove the engraving.
 
Just tell him the trade is off.

I mean really, like he thought it would be fine to make a deal with his name engraved on the light??

Or tell him you need the Nitecore back for just awhile. If he asks why, tell him you're just going to engrave your name all over it. But he'll get it back afterwards.

Haha. Naw, it's not a big deal, I just thought it was kinda funny. I'm quite sure that he didn't realize what he was doing when he did it. (It looks awful.) I'm sure he knocked $100 off the value of the M4...

Besides, the reason that NEX looks so squeaky clean is because it went through my washing machine... (He LOVES it, by the way. His buddy wants one too.)

This light, I'm not going to care one bit if it gets dinged up. As a matter of fact, it'll probably make it look better. :laughing:
 
It doesn't sound like a bad deal, and is a good excuse to have a nice engraved silver nameplate attached (covering over what's on there now).

NOW: Put the light in a very dark place where you need to feel for it to use it, and when you use it: WOW!!! I am so pleased with the trade. :tinfoil:

get yourself a new Nex, and be happy you got an M4 for cheap....

Thanks for the offer but I'm really not unhappy with the trade, I just thought it was kinda funny. (Can you imagine somebody from here doing that? I THINK NOT!! :crackup:) Not sure what I'm going to do with it because it'll be the second M4 that I have but I wasn't using the NEX at all and it was (still) a good trade.
