I recently purchased my first AW 18650 battery and it a flat top battery so if you have a 2 cell light it won't work because the button top won't touch the rear of the first battery. Does AW make a raised top on their 18650s? I've been using Orbtronic which are Panasonic cells and I've never run them down all the way! I just thought I'd try AW and see what their all about. Im glad I didn't order 3 or 4 of them. The only light I have that the flat top AW 18650 will work in is a single cell EagleTac G25C2. It won't work in my other EagleTac D25LC2. It has to have a button top cell for it to work. Anyway I'll stick to my Orbtronic 18650s, they've been going strong for 3 years now with no problems at all! I purchased my AW 18650 battery from Light Hound which is only 75 miles away from me.

It's not a 2 cell issue. Flat tops have no problems with electrical connections between cells.
It is the connection to LE/switch that is the problem.

Flat top batteries are not supported.

We all make mistakes, not having a go, just pointing out this was your mistake, not AW's.
 
I've got 2 AW 18650s and they WILL NOT TOUCH when installed back to back in a 2 cell light! The top of the battery is flush and does not protrude enough to contact the back of the first battery. How in the hell is that my mistake.....MATE?

Pictures may help. My flat top AWs 18650 works just fine in multiple 2x18650s lights.

Also, have you tried putting the "first battery" second? Switch the batteries around in the 2 cell light.

Mistake if bought for the D25LC2.
What light were they bought for? Which actual AW 18650 cells?
I have AW flat tops. The top of the battery is flush. Contact made when using cells end to end by the 3 dimples on the -ve end.
Do your cells have 3 dimples on the -ve end?

I think this was a problem with much older AW cells but not the newer ones with the dimples on the negative end. I still have old AW 18650's without the dimples and they need a magnet or a significant clamping force from the tailcap and the bezel for the contact to be made.
 
This can also be that polarity thingy that ET puts on the spring on the business end that prevents damage if you put the batteries backwards. Since the battery is flat on the (+) end like the (-) end. If anything sell the batteries on CPFMP I sure someone will take these. You can check if the batteries are making contact back to back and check the voltage on both batteries back to back and see if it reads more than 4.2V say 2 x 4.2V would equal 8.4V. Just my 2 cents. GL.

Just buy some small magnets. They are cheap and make every flat top cell a button top cell.
