Bad seller scenario

This just dawned on me after reading a few jeers.

We all purchased from cpfmp at one point or another. Here is my question.

Someone posted a FS and it stated "LNIB blah blah lights for $50 shipped" on the title. Then on the description it goes.

"I have a LNIB blah blah lights for sale. Great light but it's not for me. Willing to sell it for $50 shipped. First ITI gets it."

After the light is sold and paid for. He/she goes back and changed the title and description.

Used blah blah light for $50.

Then the buyer got the light and stated it's not LNIB and file a dispute with paypal. The buyer goes the sale thread and try to print the original description, but it's been changed.

How can cpfmp assist the buyer in this scenario or what do you recommend the buyer to do?

quote the relevant bits in your "i'll take it" post. i know you can edit the quote, but at least it's something. alternately, screenshot the for sale post and save for dispute purposes.

Copy the whole OP in your reply of :takeit: That way it is saved in a post that is safe from the wrath of the seller.

Now it isn't a perfect solution. It doesn't take into account legitimate edits to the original sales thread. (Though these are probably minor anyways.) And it will probably infuriate a few people with slow internet who hate having large posts recopied. But if you edit out the stuff that doesn't apply, like other items for sale, it should be manageable. It could be a beneficial step if you are concerned about the seller for some reason, e.g. they are very new, etc.

CPF default quotes the title of post 1 in every post subsequent post. Even if the title and body of post 1 is changed, replies added before the change will retain the original title. The edit date of the replies will establish the contents of the subject/title on that date.
