My apologies if I'm in the wrong part of the forum. My question is perhaps too basic for here.

I picked up two Surefire 6P's at a garage sale. They had the original twisty tails replaced with SF clickies. I want to go back to the twisty but they didn't have the original parts.

I'm not sure I want tailcaps from Surefire as my guess they would run about $35 each (strangely, you don't see the twisties offered on many SF vendor websites). This would make my investment in the conversion several times more than I paid for the flashlights.

Is there a better option? (And while I might sound cheap, I do not want to sacrifice too much quality) TIA

CPFMP almost always has Z41 tailcaps (the twisty tailcaps) for sale for anywhere from $10 to $25 (usually running between $16-$20).

Any third party vendors worth mentioning?
For a SF compatible twisty? Nahhh... best recommendation is to get the real thing. They're constantly popping up at the Marketplace within the price range bstrickler mentioned. $10 will get you a good condition piece, $15 or so for mint, and the upper end at $25 (sometimes even a few bucks less) is for the hard ano.

BTW, very cool to come across a couple 6P's at a garage sale. I woulda' snagged 'em fast too! Did ya' get a good deal?

Indeed, $14 for the two. One has some nicks, the other looks like it came out of the packaging. Of course, now I have some hosts so the spending isn't over. If I didn't already have some SF's dedicated to just incandescents, I might be leaving them as is for now.
