Hello, best community in the world...

I'm having issues and I hope you can help.. Recently my 6p stopped working.. Opened it up and the black AW battery I had in it had split the wrapper.. Since I needed another battery, I took a tenergy battery from another light.. But this one had also split the wrapper and one end of it had popped off like a coin coming out of a roll of coins..

Then, I took another tenergy battery I had and put it on my Pila charger and a few seconds later, the charger said it was done and out of curiosity I put a meter on it and my 18650 was reading 4.12v....

What's going on? Is my charger screwed or what? The charger isn't even a year old and nor were the batteries. Did I over discharge them or something or is something else going on?

I just ordered another two black AW 18650s and don't want them screwed up, too..

Help?

We need more info. Based on what you posted, it sounds like you aren't taking good care of your batteries.

Do you have a DMM?

What's a "dmm"? Digital multi meter? Because I do... I will admit I probably didn't charge them frequently, but I figured since I wasn't using them so much they would be OK.....

What other info could I give to help solve this problem?

1) How old are they?
2) Have they been left in extreme warmth?

Less than a year old. I carry the light on my belt so they're not in "extreme" temperatures like in a car in the summer or winter...

Some of My aw 2600s have cracked wrappers.
It's normal - there's a thread about rewrapping if u scroll down a bit.

I prefer the stock green wrapper on my unprotected panasonics over any of my protected cells.
Be careful as the strip going to the neg protection circuit can short & it sucks when it does....
