Battery Confusion

Looking at these battery's http://www.batteryjunction.com/tpen-tcr123a-.html didn't see much written about them . Are they quality batteries to us in a fenix light or is there something better (safer) . Don't want to get in to the rechargeable right now.

Check this for some great information on pretty much every CR123 you will come across. I say that they are decent quality, but not really the best out of the CR123 cells. You can get a great deal for 12 Streamlight CR123 batteries on Amazon. Just be careful using CR123's. If you have a DMM I suggest checking the voltages before throwing them into your light. Every once in a while you get a dead cell in the mix and that causes some pretty serious issues, along the lines of making your flashlight explode.

Well i was taking a look at these 18650 tenergy batterys, Might be a better way to go according to the p.r. they can be recharged 500 times. Spend less in the long run.

Tenergy batteries are ok, I prefer Redilast myself, though I understand that they are pricey in comparison. Redilast cells just put out an overall nicer performance. It may be something to look into.

They're just average, at best. Don't believe everything you read, especially from a company's own P.R. department.

Yeah they are average, if you are thinking for another source then one in mind named wagawoo which is known for Battery Chargers . If you have any query then you may search on internet.

A great charging and battery system to start out with would be a Redilast 2600mah Cell and the Xtar 2 Cell Charger. That battery and charger combination would be a great start to a high quality Li-Ion setup. There are, of course, higher quality options, but as with most things, it costs a lot more.

I would not even attempt to use li-ion cells without owning a mulitimeter especially if all you are going to need it for is measuring voltage and maybe resistance. A novice can pick up a multimeter on amazon or ebay for less than $20 that is accurate enough for those functions and it will probably pay for itself in the number of cells you don't ruin. Never mind the safety factor.

It's gotten worse now with the widespread use of IMR cells. Folks don't realize that they can easily over discharge them, ruin them and maybe have a bad accident.
