thanks. i found some like that. im really trying to one like the picture i listed. i believe its waterproof.

the only place I have seen holders like that is with headlamps. You could try and find a headlamp that uses a similar holder and buy it for the holder... places such as DX and KD or maybe ebay.

I also am looking for a similar battery holder for 4 AA with a watertight cover. Seems the only ones available are all the same made of plastic with thin wires and probably made in huge quantities from the same maker somewhere in Asia. How about one made of bakelite or a thicker gauge plastic with a solid cover with rubber O ring seal.

I have an old rayovac incan 4AA headlamp with a sturdy holder that takes a flat blade screwdriver to open it.

I've seen people with something like the second one where they wrapped it in a johnny to keep it dry!
