I have just lost a couple of lights to leaking D-cells. I am moving away from big lights to small BRIGHT lights......
I have an outline of a battery management program and want the folks here to check me.
My "primary" main light is an RS11 (on the way to me)
I will be using AW16850 cells and a Pila charger. The batteries will be charged and numbered.
I would like to keep a spare 16850 in the car but I wonder if that is a good idea with Chicago summers. Should I keep a couple of CR123A's for backup in the car?
My "kitchen" drawer lights are an older 5 led light running CR123As that could just go away. I have a Fenix LD22 that will use eneloops as primary batteries. This light will get used on a regular basis. I might keep a couple P91 batteries in the drawer for backup?
I am putting a Fenix LD12 on the nite stand and that will also use eneloops.
I have a couple of Maratac AAA lights coming. I want to test them as my pocket light to replace my Solitare. I am going to us eneloop there also but thinking about keeping a P92 in a delrin case with me too.
I have to go off and study Battery University some more to wrap my head around this more fully. I have to be enable others around me to execute the program. When the battery gets low get the next ones and recharge.
Is there a place for alkalines in this? How do you managing the eneloops and recharging across several lights and people?
