Battery Newbie

After searching around and trying to soak in as much info as I can I need help deciding on a battery.

I am pretty new to the vast flashlight world and rechargeable batteries.

I have lights that will use RCR123 and 18650, both have "reverse polarity protection". That being said I will need button top and will probably want protected to be safer. From what I can read everyone seems to say AW is good and you want the Panasonic cells.

Can someone recommend me some RCR123 and 18650 AND a charger that can handle both?

If I left something out feel free to ask. I plan on getting more flashlights using these size batteries so i figure protected and button top is best since i can use it on the most different lights.

Just one tip from me: if you have a light that takes 18650's and you want to use rechargeables, forget about RCR123's. Only some lights will have higher outputs with RCR123's (due to increased voltage). But even for those lights that do, using RCR123's in series where an 18650 would also work, is just not worth the trouble. And that's beside the large capacity difference between an 18650 and 2 RCR123's.

Ohh sorry I meant I have some lights that take rcr123 and some that take 18650. I wouldn't use the rcr in series.

I use several chargers, but have 2 Xtar VP1 chargers that work on 18650 and RCR 123 batteries. AW cells are great. Stick with AW and Panasonic cells.
