Battery pack question

Hi all

New to the forum but I have a feeling I'm in the right place....

I'm trying to build a 5 d cell battery pack (Most likely a 4 + 1 pack setup). I'm curious where everyone orders parts like this. I've checked a few sites that ship free and direct from china but no luck. I did find one place in North America but the parts were 5 bucks and the fedex shipping was 80 :eek:

Electronic shops in your region should sell parts like that. No need to import a simple cheap d-cell holder

Yes I know I can pick this up locally however in my experience radio shack/the source is and always will be a rip off. Also I'm planning on needing lots of bits and pieces. Someone must have a few reputable sites that sell this stuff at reasonable prices.

As for the google search I tried that... First hit was batteryspace.com 2 dollar d cell holder 78 dollar shipping to canada......

I've been very satisfied with Digikey. I think they ship internationally and hopefully have reasonable shipping charges to Canada.
