battery size equivalents?

i know the 1st two numbers = diameter in mm...2nd two is = length in mm.

just making sure...

2 x cr123 = 1 x 17670? it seems 1 x 17670 is longer

3 x cr123 = 2 x 18500? for length only...

are there any equivalent tables published?

cr123 is a 16340 so two end to end would make 16680. 16mm wide and 68mm long (zero of course signifies cylindrical cell) so yes, essentially a 17670 would be comparable. There are variations in tolerances for all these cells, +/- a few mm. These #s are the cell size themselves, they don't account for protection circuits. That may add a mm in width and 1 or 2 in length.

Check wikipedia for common battery sizes.
