How important is the source of batteries? I am considering some lithium ions, and found some on DX for very cheap... http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.19624 or http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3287

What are the chances these are fake or not going to perform....or would it be fine? The price is suspiciously low. Where do you all buy batteries? edit: And what brand? I don't want to take any chances with junk. double edit: I also see that everyone uses eneloop. Is that basically the benchmark in NiMH batteries?

Also side note: Is DX sort of hated around here? I can kind of sense it even though I haven't read it explicitly.

Use the search function for Ultrafire and make your own judgement if it is worth for you to get these cheap.
In my opinion it is worthwhile to go for quality with LiIons - they have the potential to explode and in the long run it might not be worthwhile to save a buck or two.

This is not really the place to discuss a seller, but here are the facts: Many people on the board buy from DX and you can find quite some complaints about them. This gives you quite a good idea what to expect from DX and it is again up to you whether you're willing to deal with this kind of shopping or not.

Ahh, I searched ultrafire dealextreme to try to find some correlation, but didn't look at what people were actually saying about the batteries themselves :ohgeez:

Thanks :)

IBTL :)

They both have their issues, but I think KD is more hated than DX.

Go over to the marketplace to read more about it.

Yes, at this point the Eneloop has become the benchmark for NiMh low self discharge batteries.
