Battery Squeezin\' (again).

I took one of the "dead" Streamlight CR123's out of my SF 9P with a P91 lamp assembly last night and popped it in my green 7 LED high-power Peak McKinley. It ran it for several more hours putting out useful "house navigating" light. When it finally went "dead" again, I put it in my red LED Inova X5T and it continued to run for another couple hours or so, but just dimly. So, the X5T seems better than the McKinley at CR 123 battery squeezin'.

Yeah, the Inova X5 is one of the better LEDs at using available battery power.

Re: Battery Squeezin\' (again).

I've noticed in my battery squeezing efforts that my Peak 1 AAA red prototype will light up with very little starting voltage in a worn out battery. Batteries that will not fire up my Arc AAA or Dorcy will work in the Peak and seem to not require a rest period.

Re: Battery Squeezin\' (again).

I have a new style KL1.
I had a set of battiers that were dead from using them in my surefire L4.

I ran the KL1 on them two "dead" battiers for three hours.
Light is kind of dim, but with the spot lighting of the new kl1 it's still usefull in a dark room.

The KL1 was still going after three hours, but i turned it off, will run the same batties some more later...

I have the McE2s (15 ohm) on the body I was using to run the KL1, but had the light on high.

KL1 would still light on low or high after the three hour run time on the "dead" batties. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Battery Squeezin\' (again).

I have a test that I call the "AfterMag Test". I took the batteries out of a MiniMag when they could no longer produce even a faint glow from the bulb. I put one af the AA's in my CMG In finity Ultra, and the other in my Arc AA. So far, I've gotten over 15 hours of use from each. Of course they are considerably dimmer than with new batteries. They still have some life left, too. It's nice to know that if I'm in a pinch, I can make use of batteries that most people have thrown away, and get lots of use out of them. It really speaks for the efficiency of the Infinity Ultra and the Arc AA.

Re: Battery Squeezin\' (again).

Whenever my QIII runs a battery "dead", I try it in my X5T. The X5T will usually run it for about 30-45 minutes before it's completely drained.

Inova should market the X5T with a slogan such as, "The Inova X5T. When all you have are dead batteries, let us light your world." Nice, eh? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
