I keep seeing the ad in the top corner for the forums for the storacell battery management. They look cool and all, but do I really need battery management?

Seems about the only batteries I buy and store are AA & AAA. Them I just keep stored in a kitchen cabinet in the package they come in.

Being all my flashlights are LED's that run for ever and still work with week batteries I have never found a need to store batteries any other place then at home. Guess it maybe smart of me to store some in our vehicles, but I'm afraid they would just get forgot about and age.

How does everyone else store there batteries?
 
Those battery holders are very good, I have two, I also use the Surefire spares carriers and a few 123 pelican cases.

Having a short on a 123 in your pocket or bag will really spoil your day. Alkaline batteries are a bit more docile, but a propper storage system will ensure safe and reliable backup batteries.

They do look really cool. Think I will order some just to see what they are like.
Guess I can always find a glove box, tool box, tackle box or someplace to put them.
My sons car would be a real good place for one.

The glow ones look really cool and the site says they glow up to eight hours after being exposed to just 30 minutes of sun light.
 
Don't store Alkalines in the car...extreme heat or cold will ruin them, and eve na mildly warm day, temps in a vehicle can get extremely warm...you'll go to use them, and find a pile of battery goo...only pack alkies in the car for short durations when you need them, such as camping trips, etc.
 
I use a Tamrac SAS MX-5368 for my eneloops. It holds 8 AA and 10 AAA batteries, zips up, and has an attachment to strap onto a bag or belt when needed. Just awesone.
 
Yes, the Powerpax battery carriers are excellent, I have quite a few of these (in many different sizes and capacities). Loose batteries are at risk of getting shorted by anything metal, including other batteries, so these plastic holders help protect from accidental contact and damage.

BTW, I never use alkalines in anything that I value.
 
I have used powerpax battery holder on a 7 day rafting/camping trip and they are great due to light weight.

Same here, Considering how much longer energizer e2 lithium batteries last I don't really see much of a price difference in them over good alkaline batteries.
I buy energizer e2 lithium in the largest pack at walmart when they are on sale. Can always stock up as they last a long time. :)

Totally slipped my mind...yes, the 14500 fit quite nicely!

I have a bunch of clamshell type cases that hold 4 AA or 4 AAA batteries. I just bought 5 2xCR123a battery holders for ~$2.50 at lighthound.

I've seen those PowerPax but thought it strange that it leaves the contacts open. Better than loose batteries but still vulnerable.

Agreed.

I have one of these organizers for my RCR123 batteries. It works perfect because every morning I can pop a topped off battery into my EDC (HDS rotary) and then put the old battery in the carrier the opposite direction. When I have time I charge the ones that are opposite in the carrier (I always have a topped off cell in my EDC and my cells get worked evenly). I use cheaper organizers for my Eneloops to make sure they are getting rotated.

I use a similar system, namely:

Positive up = "fully charged"
Positive down = "partially discharged"

These really help keep me organized :)
