this battery upsizer only for increasing the overall size of each battery. Thus, if you change 2D light into 2AA using the upsizer, you will only get at most 4200 mAH (based on today capacity of AA) rather than 14000 mAH from 2D.
I think this only works for emergency where you don't have enought upeer size batteries.
 
Well, yes, they're for emergencies. Also, I was thinking that with two thin, round pieces of aluminum above and below the cells, you might be able to put three AA in the D shell. I'm not sure of the relative sizes, but perhaps three AA in the C shell, too.
 
well, without the holder, you can, at most, put 2 aa inside a c battery compartment and 4 inside a D. But with this, while it is possible to put only 2D, you have to create your own "nipple" and i said it is not worth the trouble. It is worth trying only to get the feel of it but i would rather wait for the 3AA to D holder from Wayne (Electrolumens). As for AA to C, as i said, you can put 2AA to C holder, BUT without any additional holder outside.
 
Oh, my mistake. I meant to write "three AAA into a C shell".
When is the electrolumens holder going to be available? Is there a link? I put Electrolumens into google, and got no hits.
