Be forewarned that I got ahold of 3 of these recently and they will not hold 123 cells.

would a waterproof match container be of any use?
they can hold three cr123s and of course they are waterproof.
they are useually orange and can be found in outdoor stores for a couple of bucks. check out the 'how do you carry your spare batteries' thread for a picture.

Edit- thats 2 cr123s not 3

I have two of them, and they hold 123's fine with a bit of room to spare.

There was a thread a while back where someone noted that Ace Hardware also carries these waterproof match containers. Their's are supposed to be dark green, a little smaller, and it said that two 123s fit in and didn't require any type of dunnage to prevent rattling.

The ones they're selling now sure don't. The actual top compartment holds one fine, (with room to spare), but the bottom piece with the threads will not fit over a 123 cell.

if you're just looking for a waterproof container for two CR123's, get an APS film can from your photo lab - it holds two cells snugly, when you need them just squeeze the bottom & they drop out, and they're free! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
