BB400 tolerances

How much input voltage can a BB400 safely handle? Can I safely use a McLux head with BB400 on a e2e?

No,

An e2e is 2 123 batteries (6V) and that is not a boost configuration. The input voltage must be less than ~3.5V for a boost configuration.

(If you had a 5W Luxeon that would put the output at around 6.8V and two 123 batteries would work in that configuration)

Well, you can stick it in an E2x, but you'd have to be using a Li-Ion (Pila/Copia- 3.7V), and then, you'd probably be DDing it...
