Benchmade Rescue Hook?

Candle Power Forums

Help Support Candle Power:

Very. Also doubles as O2 wrench and bottle opener. Great to cut a rubber coated roof(like on a strip mall).

FC.--Is that the black oxide finish or just satin steel at a wierd angle. If it is the oxide, how does it seem to hold up?

I've also been thinking about getting one and was wondering what people thought about the hard "snap-fit" sheath.

I think I just found my newest fuctional toy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

This should fit most utility jobs I come across fairly well and it doesn't look overtly scary. Where I'm now working, I can't carry my pistol and no knife alowed either. Even a flashlight bigger than a m!n!-mag raises some eyebrows.

On one of the other forums a paramedic posted that he used this to cut off leather clothing and it sliced through with no problem. He recommended it highly.

They are very useful! I've almost always got one in my pocket . . . I have both the nylon sheath and the snap-fit "holster/sheath"

They are also on sale at New Grahm Pharmacy for $15.00. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here we go again. I need to get the credit card ready. What is this called and where can I get one?

Nascar--That is the Benchmade Rescue Hook 5

You can get it with a soft nylon pouch or a hard snap sheath. Go to the Benchmade.com website for more info.

Lux--thanks for the NewGraham link. I had lost it from my favorites list after they had the sale on Arc LSH-P's.

Can that be kept on a keychain through that hole in the top? How easy would it be to accidently cut yourself with the blade?
-ERiC

No, it is too big for a keychain, and that blade is about the sharpest thing I ever handled.
